Nutcracker Season/Nußnackersaison

We have now officially entered the Nutcracker season.  Charlotte and Veronika will participate in two partial performances on Saturday.  Charlotte is the Sugar Plum Fairy and Veronika a party boy.  Flora and Miriam will not be performing because there will be no battle scene and both of them are part of that.  Three regular performances will be next week with lots of driving and dress rehearsals before that date.  Jonathan's Nutcracker performance in Greensburg, PA, will be the same weekend as ours, so he won't see ours and we will not see his.

Jonathan left Sunday after church and lunch, and Peter came back Sunday night.  He had a wonderful time and I still have not been able to look at all of his pictures.  He sent so many!  We did do our St. Martin's lantern walk with Jonathan when he was here and that was very special to all of us, only Peter was missing.  I have not taken many pictures recently because we have been busy with thinking about make-up and costumes.  Jonathan took some of our stage make-up with him and now we have to replace certain items.  There is no good place around here where you can buy the items we need, so we took advantage of Cyber Monday and ordered most of what we need to have.  Now we just have to hope that it will arrive in time.

Of course, Julius came along!
Natürlich ist auch Julius mitgegangen!

Tomorrow, three of my future performance singers in German 101, will practice a German song with the class.  One of the singers is Italian, one British, and one American :).

Since I have not had a chance to take many pictures, here are a few more Peter sent me.

Old organ in Eisenach, probably Bach played it.

This is the house where Martin Luther lived when he was a student in Erfurt.  It was similar to a dorm and/or fraternity house, dedicated to St. George.

    1. I hope to be able to post a few more of Peter's pictures. Julius is one year younger than Veronika, so he is 11 years old.

These two coming weeks will be the worst. But it will all pass.
