Gardening, Baking, and Nature/Gärtnern, Backen und Natur

Euro Cuisine Yogurt Maker - YM80Gluten-Free Baking: More Than 125 Recipes for Delectable Sweet and Savory Baked Goods, Including Cakes, Pies, Quick Breads, Muffins, Cookies, and Other DelightsCountry Baking: Simple Home Baking With Wholesome Grains and the Pick of the HarvestVery early this morning, Jonathan, Miriam, and Veronika went to the community garden with their daddy to do some more work.  It got hot very quickly so that they couldn't work very long.  The rest of the day was spent turning the mattresses of the children and washing all the bedding.  I also baked two different kinds of scones, one from Country Baking and one from Gluten-Free Baking.  Then I baked a banana bread and a no-knead yeast loaf of bread.  We got some milk at our Amish farm and I made yogurt out of some.  We use this yogurt maker

Jonathan has been taking some nature pictures recently.  Here are a few:

  1. Such pretty red birds! We have one up here, the pine grosbeak and I haven't seen them yet this year. Wonderful pictures. Thanks. :)

  2. Becky, we haven't seen pine grobeaks here although they sometimes spend the winters in this region. My son's picture is a purple finch which is much smaller than the pine grosbeak. I just took a look at your moose with baby. They are amazing! I spent a year in Canada twenty years ago and remember them fondly.

We're making chocolate bread as Christmas gifts this year. Other years we've made cranberry-orange bread.
Jonathon, the pictures you've taken are just beautiful, you have a talented photographic eye. Thank you for sharing.
