Endlich gab es mal einen heißen Sommertag ohne Gewitter und so habe ich meine drei Mädchen ins Auto gepackt und bin zu unserem See gefahren.
They built a new pier as you can see in this picture. It is meant for swimmers to hold on to and sit on top. The old one had been fairly rotten.
Sie haben einen neuen Steg gebaut, weil der alte sehr verrottet war. Man kann oben drauf sitzen oder sich dran festhalten.

And then the clouds moved in and now we have thunderstorms and another flood warning.
Und dann kamen die Wolken und jetzt gewittert es und wir haben wieder Warnungen vor Überschwemmungen.
I love swimming. It looks like a wonderful summer day at the lake. Was the water warm, or cool? We're having very hot days again, and warm nights.
ReplyDeleteThe water had just the perfect temperature! Earlier this summer they were not open because they could not find lifeguards. Then they were open, but we had constant downpours, so you could not go. We had hoped to go more often, but it looks like we can only go again on Friday. I don't want to go over the weekend because it will be too crowded, I think. And on Tuesday, the beach will close for the season. Our temperature here has been awful, but tonight it is slowly going down.
DeleteAh, jetzt sehe ich es, an einem richtig schönen See wart ihr zum Schwimmen. Wie schön! Das anschließende Gewitter und die Überschwemmungen natürlich nicht. Meine Eltern müssen heute in ein Gebiet fahren, in dem es Starkregen geben soll. Sie machen sich Gedanken, ob sie nicht nach dem Termin sofort wieder heim fahren sollen, statt sich noch die Stadt anzuschauen. Irgendwie hat man im Moment genug vom Thema Starkregen.
ReplyDeleteJa, eine Talsperre ist das. Im Winter wird das Wasser abgelassen! Hoffentlich haben Deine Eltern keine Schwierigkeiten bekommen. Es gibt dieses Jahr entweder nur Starkregen oder Waldbrände, verrückt!
DeleteMeine Eltern sind zum Glück trotz Autobahn Sperrungen schnell wieder heim gekommen. Das war ihnen zu unheimlich, das versteh ich auch. Sie waren froh, dass sie zurück waren.

DeleteThe sun has also put in an appearance at this end and looks likely to stay right through the Bank Holiday weekend which is unheard of. We have Pip’s Interhigh timetable for this next year - three bog slogging full on days but then Thursday and Friday free, so one day to sort out homework and the other for field trips and meetings with a long standing home Ed family xx
