Flora/Cats/View//Flora/Katzen und Ausblick

Here you can see Flora on her way to becoming a teenager😊!  This is how she decided to dress for her school work with me yesterday.

Our cat(s) love our long lawn.
Unsere Katze(n) mögen den langen Rasen.

Hello!
Hallo!

He does get up when a car comes . . .
Er steht auf, wenn ein Auto kommt . . .

This is the view of Flora's violin teacher's house.

This is the unpaved road leading to the house.

While Flora was having her lesson, I went to the library and ran into one of the librarians, we don't see so much anymore, because she works on a different day than the day we normally go to the library.  She told me I looked good and was so happy to see me!  She always tells people what she thinks (and not just her positive thoughts).

I had already dropped off all my other children, including Jonathan, at the ballet carpool spot before Flora's class.  When I drove back to pick up Flora, I ran into a friend (and professor) from college, whose daughter used to dance  and also plays the violin.  We had a nice long chat, but then it was time to drive home.

P.S. In case you want to see a drive through Western NY, I uploaded a video on the blog post from our trip to the historic village here.

  1. Between Flora and the cats, this is a funny post! It also sounds like a nice day meeting friends and chauffeuring around the countryside :) The dirt road is very picturesque! (And everything is so green again!)

    1. :))))).

Yes, the lilac is blooming and also the chestnuts. I always dread this road because if a car should happen to come towards you, I would not know what to do. There is no way to make room, you would have to back down again and parts of the road goes through the woods on a hill where your car could simply fall down the hill or end up in a deep ditch.

    1. Yes, there are only farms here and pretty big ones, actually. This area used to be the "wheat basket" a long time ago, but then the monoculture led to one disaster after another and now there is more corn than wheat. But names like "wheatland" still show this heritage.

  3. I see what you mean about the road . . I think if you ever meet another car, you must insist that they back up! But, really, I just hope you never do :)

    1. I do hope the other car would do that for me, but it is better the cars stay away :).
