Seton has put together summer reading lists for four different age groups: Early Elementary, Intermediate Elementary, Advanced Elementary, and High School. The book choices are mostly religious. You can get a certificate at the end, if you follow their guide lines. Here is a link to the program. I think I will take their lists and find some good summer read-alouds. We are reading St. Margaret Mary right now.
Thanks for sharing the list, not sure if I will manage to borrow any from the library. However I will look into buying second hand if possible x
ReplyDeleteOur library does not have many of those books either, just a few of the non-religious ones. Maybe Amazon? I thought it was much harder to find used books in the U.K. than here. Sometimes Book Depository has a good selection of new books, but their service is quite slow. I also liked the Book People, much better than the service at Amazon, but the selection was not so great. Good luck in finding some books.
DeleteThis sounds lovely; I still have my "15 Saints for Girls" book that I practically wore out; it had been my mother's. My auntie and Godmother was named for St. Margaret Mary.
ReplyDeleteIs this a Joan Windham book? That is amazing to have two Margaret Marys in the family, I don't think I know any myself.
