"Miró"

I simply love Flora's "Miró" drawing!
Floras "Miró" Zeichnung ist einfach umwerfend!

And Jonathan and I are reading one of my favorite books, Joseph Fouché: Portrait of a Politician.

Tomorrow evening we will have a barbecue with a Swiss friend of Peter.  I am sure that will be fun.

I don't think I am able to come up with anything "witty" tonight.  I spent all my "witty" remarks on e-mails with my colleagues from our college back home (there are lots of issues to discuss right now with midterm grades and the new fall semester).  So this will be it for tonight.

Oh, maybe I should end with an Austrian song :).  My intermediate student had her class with me today.  We are using a wonderful textbook, called Weiter geht's! (I am also using their other book for my beginning students) with a wonderful author who never tires to answer all my questions :).  Right now we are learning about Austria and we had this song today.  Sorry, this is all in Austrian German, except the title!

    1. I will let her know :). Today she drew herself and our French professor back home building a sand castle on the beach.

  4. Yes, I love Flora's drawing!!! I do miss how the children drew when they were younger. There was such freedom! And her drawing expresses so much . . so much of everything she's doing with you too.

The Fouché book looks very interesting! I had never heard of him before. My library actually has the book but I think I'd have to read it there; they won't let me bring it home (too many books like that! I guess they are old and delicate), and the local bookstore has his actual memoirs . . but the one you've mentioned is on the Alibris website.

    1. I will keep this drawing. I am not keeping all drawings, but this one, I will.

Stefan Zweig has written so many wonderful biographies of people that are not as well-known. Fouché must have been a very fascinating person. I remember reading this book in school and how much I was moved by it. By all means, try to get it. We got it from a college library here. Stefan Zweig has written many different books, not just biographies, also some very moving love stories. I never understood why he committed suicide. Do Amazon or E-bay have a copy?
