On Monday, we drove back to New York.
Am Montag sind wir wieder nach New York gefahren.
There were warning signs for moose!
Es gab Warnschilder für Elche!
It was such a beautiful morning, but quite hot.
Es war ein wunderschöner Morgen, aber sehr heiß.
We finally arrived at the Yiddish Book Center. Last summer I had read a picture book as a read-aloud about this book center. That sparked our wish to go and visit. It was a wonderful visit!
Schließlich sind wir beim Jiddischen Bücherzentrum angekommen. Letzten Sommer hatte ich ein Bilderbuch über dieses Zentrum vorgelesen. Es klang so interessant, daß wir es gerne besuchen wollten.

It was a very interesting, although exhausting, drive back. We arrived back home well past midnight.

What a fun, though exhausting day! The Center and Shrine are lovely! Was that a pool at the Shrine, or a fountain? It must have looked inviting on a hot day! (I was miserable yesterday in the heat.)
ReplyDeleteNo, that was just a fountain, but the fountain was not running. The girls put their hands into it because of the heat.
DeleteInteresting places and I agree with Dorina, that pool looked very inviting!! Does Miriam have any plans to continue with studying? Xx
ReplyDeleteIt did look like you should take a swim, but of course, this is a shrine, so you would not dream of doing that. Miriam is applying for jobs right now. She has not ruled out grad school, but she wants to work for at least a year.
DeleteI hope she is successful in finding a job. I’m sure the Divine Mercy Shrine has featured on EWTN xx
DeleteShe has an interview here at the college tomorrow. Interesting that it was on EWTN, but I believe it.
