The magnolia blossoms turned all brown.
Die Magnolienblüten sind alle braun geworden.
Flora and I completed our Monday work including the last chapter of The War of the Worlds (paid link). After lunch, I taught my German students. We practiced ordering coffee in a Viennese coffee house, and then they had to take an exam. Flora and I did some yard work, and afterwards Peter drove her to ballet. I tackled the iron pile while they were gone.
Flora und ich haben unsere Montagsarbeit gemacht, wozu auch die letzten Kapitel von Krieg der Welten gehörte, und ich habe meine Deutschstudenten nach dem Mittagessen unterrichtet. Wir haben geübt, wie man etwas in einem Wiener Kaffeehaus bestellt. Danach mußten sie eine Klausur schreiben. Flora und ich haben im Garten gearbeitet und dann hat Peter sie zum Ballett gefahren. Ich habe in ihrer Abwesenheit den Bügelberg abgearbeitet.

Snow again!! Winter is trying to hang on for dear life! We've not had snow but did have frost first thing yesterday morning, and I had to clear the windows before setting off for an early physio appointment. We have sunshine and blue skies today but a brisk wind blowing in which is great for the washing. I think the fire will be lit once again this evening xx

The strawberries with whipped cream look delicious! It was always my mom's and aunt's favorite dessert. Please tell that snow to go away and don't come back! I hope the apple trees survive.
ReplyDeleteI thought so too that they looked extra yummy! We seldom get local strawberries here in our part of New York. In Europe they are abundant. Yes, the snow is coming back again and again. Right now it is raining, though, not snowing :). I have not heard anything more about the apple trees on the radio, but I found something about the Saratoga variety and some other ones: "Eric Darrow says some varieties of apples show signs of damage after the recent frost, meaning crops for those apples may be light this year."

DeleteWe had a snow warning two nights ago, but I do not think it snowed. At least, we did not see it snowing.
