Miriam needed passport photos and we also had some haircut appointments. We combined both errands and had a beautiful afternoon.

Driving along the border to PA to Olean.
Photos at CVS. Their camera was broken, so Peter had to use his phone to take pictures and they uploaded those pictures to their computers. Crazy!
A quinoa salad I made.
Diesen Quinoasalat habe ich gemacht.
While we were driving all around, Jonathan was visiting Greg, Dorina, and Chanda. They had invited him for supper! 😍

And the girls got back their standardized test results and are very pleased because they scored above average.
What a beautiful library! And that's very funny about the passport photos. It's good they let Peter use his cellphone and didn't expect you to go somewhere else! Your quinoa salad looks very good and we did have a fun time with Jonathan ! :)
ReplyDeleteIt is an old building and beautiful! It also has the best children's book collection I have ever seen (that includes collections in London, Los Angeles, and any library around us). There would have been no near place to go to because that is the only CVS pharmacy around. It had to be CVS. The pictures worked (we took them to the consulate today). Their machine accepted them and now Miriam will get her passport in about six weeks. I love quinoa in salads. I am so glad you enjoyed your time with Jonathan. He did enjoy his time with you.
Delete:) and I think I may have to visit this library one day! The Donnell library here in Manhattan had a children's collection I felt similarly about . . but then they "renovated" the branch and when I returned, all the lovely old books had been moved into storage. So sad. One could still request them, but to me it's not the same as "discovering" them on the shelf while browsing.
DeleteIt is a beautiful building, has terrific books, a great outdoor terrace, and the stage where the girls perform the Nutcracker. Oh, who sad about the Donnell library! That happened to one of the branches in London. It used to be very pretty the first time we were there when Jonathan was only six. When we came back ten years later, it was all modern looking (very cold) and all good books were gone!
DeleteSometimes the renovations or updates aren't so nice!
DeleteI always wonder what the renovators are thinking when I see very ugly spaces.
DeleteLol . . I wonder!
DeleteAnother fun filled day and so funny to see Mr J at Dorina’s house, I’m long overdue a catch up there too xx
ReplyDeleteYes, Charlotte was there a few months ago and now Jonathan. I have missed your blogposts!
