Eye doctor
Augenarzt
Peter and I had our annual eye doctor appointment today. Our eyes did not change much and we do not need new prescriptions.
Peter und ich hatten heute unseren jährlichen Besuch beim Augenarzt. Unsere Augen haben sich nicht viel verändert und wir brauchen keine neuen Brillen.
We then stopped at the post office (a very ugly one).
Dann waren wir bei der Post (sehr häßlich).
We looked briefly at this bookstore, but did not buy anything.
Dann waren wir kurz in diesem Buchladen, aber haben nichts gekauft.
We visited this cute consignment store, but did nto find anything.
Auch in diesem Secondhandladen haben wir nichts gefunden.

Next stop was the co-op.
Dann ging es weiter zum Bioladen.
Next on the list was Tops, the grocery store. Here you can find out what a German hamburger would look like.
Dann waren wir im Supermarkt Tops, wo man herausfinden kann, wie ein deutscher Hamburger aussieht.

We had some tea and coffee at the Kornerstone Cafè.
In diesem Café haben wir Tee und Kaffee getrunken.
We walked around and also dropped off a few winter coats at the dry cleaner's.
Bei der Reinigung haben wir ein paar Mäntel abgegeben.
The drive back home was beautiful.
Die Heimfahrt war sehr schön.
Sieht ja alles sehr nett aus. Bis auf die Poststelle. LOL
ReplyDeleteGenau, es ist da sehr hübsch, aber die Post? Die sollte man abreißen und neu bauen.
DeleteJa, es gab da mal so eine Zeit, wo man dachte, Leute wollen so etwas. Ist hier auch nicht anders.
DeleteStimmt, aber es gibt hier in vielen Städten besonders häßliche Postämter. Vielleicht hatten sie hier jahrelang einen Postarchitekten, der sie entworfen hat?
DeleteBestimmt. Und wahrscheinlich hat er einen Preis bekommen für "innovative" Stadtgestaltung oder so. ;)

ReplyDeleteYes, since we have to drive so far for most errands, you have to do as many as you can in one sitting so to speak. That was all up in East Aurora, south of Buffalo. It is a beautiful town! I wish we lived there.
DeleteThat's what I've been saying to myself since Morgana sent the photos from Austria: I wish I lived there! Lol :) You do so well with organizing these errand days Eva, do you make lists?
DeleteHa, ha! There are many beautiful places on earth . . . Sometimes I make lists, but mostly I have mental lists. Whenever we go places, I kind of know what things we could combine.
