Peter (he was home at 3:00 A.M.!) and Charlotte managed to get Jonathan's car going again, thanks to our neighbor's jumping cables. Peter drove Jonathan's car for a while and we do hope that it will still work tomorrow.
Peter (der um 3 Uhr nachts nach Hause gekommen ist!) und Charlotte haben es geschafft, daß Jonathans Auto wieder fährt. Die Batterie war wohl leer und das Kabel des Nachbarn hat alles wieder zum Laufen gebracht. Peter ist mit Jonathans Auto eine Weile gefahren, hoffentlich fährt es auch noch morgen.

Resting: The air quality was bad today, due to all the wildfires out West. It was hazy, hot, and humid all day.
Ausruhen: Die Luftqualität war heute schlecht, da die Waldbrände im Westen bis nach hier die Luft verschmutzen. Dazu was es noch heiß, schwül und sehr dunstig.

DeleteYep although I think the weather will break at some point over the weekend. It’s taken me two days to acclimatise and this morning I woke at 5:30 and decided to jump start the day, best decision ever although I’ll need an early bed tonight 🤣🥱😴
DeleteYes, that is sometimes a smart thing to do, get up so early and be productive until about 11:00 a.m. Then take it easy until the early evening. That is what our summers often look like when it is too hot and humid (or escape to an air-conditioned building, but they are not so plentiful around here). I hope you will make it through the day. Sending you lots of cool breezes.
DeleteLovely photos from Veronika! The fog is pretty and the frogs are cute. The large rock surrounded with trees seemingly growing from cracks in its edges is interesting. Glad they got Jonathan's car going . . hope it's a keeper! I looked just like Flora yesterday . .
ReplyDeleteYes, almost like an enchanted forest, correct? I asked her if she had tried to kiss the frogs, in case one was a prince :). She had not tried that, though. I think many mountains have those cracks with trees there.
DeleteJonathan's car is still going, Charlotte used it today to take Flora to art and also to drive to the studio to teach ballet.
Yes, it was a very exhausting kind of weather.

ReplyDeleteDie Bohnen sind jetzt reif und die Kapuzinerkresse blüht sehr schön. Die Möhren sind ein wenig klein geblieben.
DeleteSehr schön!! Eigene Bohnen. Wir hatten auch ein paar, aber nicht viele. Die Möhren brauchen hier immer lange, bestimmt drei Monate. Ich habe auch vor ein paar Tagen erfahren, dass es Sommermöhren und Wintermöhren gibt und die einen brauchen länger als die anderen. Das wusste ich auch noch nicht.
DeleteWir haben eigentlich sehr viele Bohnen, aber die Möhren wollen einfach nicht. Ich habe noch nie von Sommer- und Wintermöhren gehört. Ich habe keine Ahnung, was wir benutzt haben.
DeleteIch habe davon auch noch nie was gehört, ich weiss auch nicht, was ich benutzt habe, ich habe einfach die Packung aufgemacht und ausgesät, auf der Möhren stand. :-D Ich glaube es gibt eine Sorte, die schneller wächst. Möhren brauchen drei Monate bis man sie ernten kann.
DeleteEs macht Sinn, daß es schnell wachsende Möhren gibt, sonst hätten die Geschäfte ja nicht so viele und außerdem gäbe sie es nicht das ganze Jahr.
