Goldenrod/Goldraute

Seven years ago ☺!  Pictures from today will follow, but right now I am writing an exam for my German 101 students, am mordanting the silk, and simmering the goldenrod.  I am also sending get-better-soon wishes to Jonathan, who has lost his voice and has a cold.  Charlotte and Miriam were on campus tonight, participating in a Q&A session with our pastor, the dean of chapel, and students from all denominations.  I had a beautiful car ride today to and from ballet.  This Indian Summer is very enjoyable.

  1. Can we swap the weather?!! Benedict has settled in well at college but the driving for me is a challenge. Hope J is soon feeling better. I'm not surprised he is sick it is stressful being away from home and then mixing with large volumes of students = germs :-). Echinacea, garlic, vitamin C and elderberry syrup are always a good stand by.

We have made our balance scales and will using them for a recipe later today. I am also going to use them on the lead up to Michaelmas as in good v evil 😀❤️

    1. No! I don't want the cooler weather right now so I will not swap. I just love this warmth. Yesterday I was lying in the grass to soak up the sun while the girls drew some asters and goldenrod at the creek :).

I know what you mean about the driving. It gets to you. Peter told me this morning that he was also exhausted. He had a load full of very giggly girls last night . . .

Jonathan took all those things you mentioned, he had brought them with him. I told him to go to the health center when they were not helping and they diagnosed him with bronchitis. Now he has to take antibiotics and they gave him some Mucinex. I have given him much advice about how to take care of himself, including drinking lots of herbal teas, but it must be hard to do this in a dorm and on campus.

Great about the balance! We are driving to the Waldorf school in 15 minutes to watch their play. The girls are looking forward to it. Our silk scarves came out beautiful! I have to post pictures. Now I need to hurry people along so we won't be late.

      Love to you too!

    2. I made a mistake with the dates: Michaelmas is next week, not this week!

  2. Just looked at the photos and then noticed our first conversation in the comments! As I said then and will add now, your loving friendship, prayers and continued support mean such a lot to me. I hope your week continues to work out well xx

    1. I noticed that too! Back then, both our babies were still nursing . . . We had a very busy week and I am pretty tired tonight. I am glad, we have a weekend coming up. I am also glad to have found another Catholic homeschooler that is not afraid of Waldorf. Those are truly rare, especially in this country.

    1. I guess I was not clear enough: I meant you and your family.

  4. Yes, all goldenrod! I've had my question answered :) I'm glad you've been enjoying the weather. I wouldn't mind if it was a bit cooler, though (it would be nice if there was less humidity!) Such wonderful work and it seems that your German class is going well too? :)

(I can't believe how time has flown!)

    1. Yes, both classes are going well, but there are always interesting surprises.

I hope the humidity is gone now.
