Westminster Cathedral before Mass
Westminster Kathedrale vor der Messe
We went to two separate churches today. Jonathan, Charlotte, and Miriam went to Westminster Cathedral, London's main Catholic church. The Mass there with a wonderful choir and Cardinal Vincent was kind of late, so Peter, Veronika, Flora, and I decided to go to St. Joan of Arc, a church that is much closer.
I do not have any great new Lenten resources with us here in London. I did print out the Lenten pathway and the Rice Bowl Calendar again. I found this handy worksheet to really put into writing what you want to do to make your Lent more meaningful (linked to by The Catholic Gentleman). And here are some sacrifice and penance ideas from Cascia Books. And Mission Together has some free materials here in the U.K., which you can order.
And of course, there was no meat today and no snacks.

As always thank you for sharing some handy resources. We are doing the 40Acts again so with a bit of luck I will share the challenges on the blog. Hope you are feeling much better, San x
ReplyDeleteThe Catholic Icing site also had some 40 days activity, but it is mainly about getting rid of things. You can see it here. I hope you will manage to stick to the 40Acts. The church here nearby has Stations of the Cross every Friday evening. We hope to go there, at least some of us. The evenings never really work for Flora very well.
DeleteWieder so schöne Bilder.
DeleteWestminster is beautiful all lit up. How was St. Joan?
ReplyDeleteIt was nice, many people, even the pastor was surprised to see so many people. We had a short talk with him after the Stations of the Cross two weeks ago: He has worked and lived in L.A. for over ten years! He is quite a nice man.
