Today was the last Nutcracker rehearsal and everything went fairly well. But before we headed south for the rehearsal, we did some Christmas shopping at the local Christmas fair.
Real dancers are able to sew the elastics on their ballet slippers themselves.

There was plenty of time to do some grading.

P.S. I was able to take some videos, but I won't post them until the actual performance.
This is a very nice post. Everyone has such beautiful smiles, and Lavender is sweet :) You're lucky that you get to watch the rehearsal! So, you had your dress on the same night as us! Chanda has one more dress tomorrow during the day and then dances in Friday night's performance. Then she has Saturday matinee and Sunday matinee and Sunday night. And then we're done! Can't wait to see your videos when you have a chance to put them up, and to hear about the performances. Wishing you a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteYes, this was Lavender's first Nutcracker. Flora had packed a special bag with food for her (colored stones and some yarn) so she would be okay during the long day.
DeleteI saw some of your pictures, it all looked grand. You have such a big stage, so many more people and possibilities, but it also looked not as cozy as our production and more "monitored" with that lady telling parents to "move their children." We are just lucky to find enough children and parents who want to do this, most people around here do not even know what "The Nutcracker" is. I will post videos later, I need some sleep tonight.
Beautiful! How nice to see your children all ready for the ballet; it is a lovely tradition. Break legs!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Angela. You have some dancing girls yourself, right? But none of your sons got into it I believe. With us, it was Jonathan who started the whole dance thing, and now they are all doing it. Kind of strange, neither Peter nor I danced as children. Thanks for your good wishes. It all went well.
