We had to run some errands and did that in East Aurora.
In the past year, they have put up wind turbines around here.
It is too early in the year for much local produce, but there were plenty of flowers.
We also stopped at Vidler's. They had "German eyeballs."
There is so much to see at Vidler's!
They were celebrating their 96th year.
Sie haben ihr 96. Bestehen gefeiert.
And then the girls put a dime into "their" horse. They used to ride it whenever we came here, but now they are too old. You can see them on the horse here in 2015.

So lovely that they saw the horse in action. Hoping you have no further power outages! We finally gave warmer weather and it’s Father’s Day here in the UK, Ben and Pip bought Dave some artisan chocolate muesli made locally to us in the Lake District. Your lovely lantern casts a comforting glow as darkness descends xx
ReplyDeleteIt is an old, old horse with wonderful sounds. So far, the power has not gone out again. We also have Father's Day here and the girls baked chocolate chip cookies for Peter. So I guess you children and mine thought of "chocolate" for their fathers. I am glad that the lantern adds something to your outdoors. We had our annual midsummer/St. John's fire today. We decided to do it today so Veronika could still participate. She has to fly back to San Diego tomorrow morning. And it has also finally gotten warm here.
DeleteI remember Morgana telling me about Vidler's :) So much to see there, and a fun place to shop. I think Veronika is wearing one of our dresses too. Nice memories Eva, and the German eyes are amusing. Were they made in Germany? Is that why they are "German" eyes?
ReplyDeleteYes, that is "your" dress! I do not think they were made in Germany, but the writing was German. Eyes like that do not particularly strike me as "German."
DeleteAgree about the eyes :) and interesting then that the writing was in German.
