Letzten Samstag waren wir in Angelica, um das dortige Lavendelfest zu besuchen. Wir haben Freunde von unserem College getroffen und einen schönen Tag gehabt.
The library had opened their special Colonial Rooms and it was very interesting to read about Angelica Schuyler Church, Alexander Hamilton (her brother-in-law). Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, and the Marquis de Lafayette.
Die Bücherei hatte ihre historischen Räume geöffnet und es war sehr interessant etwas über Angelica Schuyler Church, Alexander Hamilton (ihren Schwager), Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Benjamin Franklin und den Marquis de Lafayette zu lesen.

On Sunday, we went to the Chocolate Heritage Days at the GCV&M. There were lots of chocolate samples to try and the manager of the historical division of Mars gave a good presentation. Charlotte and Miriam volunteered at the museum. Jonathan had to work on campus that day.
Am Sonntag waren wir bei einem historischen Schokoladentag im Freilichtmuseum. Man konnte viel Schokolade probieren, und der Manager der historischen Abteilung der Firma Mars hat einen Vortrag gehalten. Charlotte und Miriam haben als freiwillige Helfer gearbeitet. Jonathan mußte beim College arbeiten.
Today, Miriam's job as summer camp assistant started and she needs to be driven there every day (and also home again). Peter drove today and will drive tomorrow. I will drive on Wednesday. We have not decided about Thursday and Friday.
Heute hat Miriams Arbeit als Ferienlagerhelferin angefangen Wir müssen sie also jeden Tag zum Lager hinfahren und auch wieder abholen. Das sind immer zwei Stunden Fahrzeit. Heute ist Peter gefahren, morgen fährt er auch, übermorgen fahre ich, und mal sehen, wer dann fährt.
I guess that's the historical division of Mars Candy Company? It's nice they have that. The lavender festival and the library's colonial rooms all sound wonderful to see! I love old libraries . .
ReplyDeleteYes, the company Mars, not the planet :)). They really try to revive the historical aspect of chocolate in this country. I think Korrina was in Angelica when she traveled with Brian. I wish they had some money to renovate some of the really old buildings.
