My little people also wanted to have their own private Lenten walk calendar again. I normally print out the one from Catholic Icing, but Flora decided she wanted to try this one instead. Each day that has passed gets colored in.
Meine kleinen Kinder wollten auch gerne wieder einen Fastenkalenderpfad haben. Ich drucke normalerweise den von Catholic Icing aus, aber dieses Jahr wollte Flora einen anderen haben.
A great source for Lenten reflections is Father Barron. I signed up for his free e-mails and they have just the right length.
Hello Eva, Thanks for the Lenten ideas. Do you use a box for the tasks that the children pick from? Or do they make them up each morning? Are they always for the day, or for the week? Thanks for your help :)
ReplyDeleteThe box is for the money the children are saving for poor people. I have a basket for the tasks. You could also make a Lenten chain like here. I normally have a new one or sometimes several ones each day, but if the older ones decide to do a certain sacrifice for more than a day that is fine with me. The younger ones normally need more help with ideas. You could also make up 40 ones in advance and then choose one from those. Actually, you can even by a kit to help you create those tasks. I have used the kit in the past, but I have the older version. It can be found here. Have fun finding what suits your family.
DeleteThanks for the links Eva. I might have a go at the paper chain activity with B and P.
DeleteMany thanks for the info re FisherMore will look at the other suggestions listed instead.
Hope your birthday gift arrives soon!
San xx
The paper chain idea is easy and requires not much prep time. Some people like to use purple for it to reflect the season.
DeleteFisher More Academy has just been renamed to Queen of Heaven Academy. I think they are trying to get away from the college. They have had a good reputation. They have been around for a long time and used to be called Regina Coeli Academy. Their new site is here.
Thanks, Eva :)
DeleteHello. I would like to clarify that Fisher More Academy (fishermoreacademy.org) is continuing the good reputation it has earned and HAS NOT been renamed. Danke schön!
ReplyDeleteThat is very strange. How is it possible then that I got an e-mail telling me that Regina Coeli Academy is now Queen of Heaven Academy? The website of it looks very similar to Fisher More Academy and the location is very close. Are there two academies offering similar things in the same city now? That is hard to believe.
DeleteI found another description of what happened here. That seems to support what I said.
