Kaputt

This morning our oven door fell out of the oven and later my laptop breathed its last breath.  The video processor is not connecting to the mother board (don't ask me what those things are) and is beyond repair.  That means that I don't have my own computer anymore.  That means that I won't be able to blog very much anymore.  It also means that we have to find a solution to continue Jonathan's French class with Seton.  It also means that I will be much slower in answering e-mails.  It also means that I will be having problems with uploading photos.  It also means that I won't have many chances to visit other blogs.  Kind of frustrating, but that's how it is.

We did have a beautiful Holy Thursday Mass tonight.  I tried to make a photo of the stained glass windows when we were leaving, but it didn't turn out very well.  Father D., for the first time, washed feet.  Our old pastor always washed the feet of 12 men, but in this, our new church, it was not done.  I asked Father D. last year why he wasn't doing it, and he said that he couldn't get enough men together.  He must have thought to give it a try this year nevertheless, and lo and behold, he almost got 12 men together.  Peter was one of them!  Such a great husband.  I also made chervil soup for dinner, our traditional soup for Holy Thursday.

Charlotte baked hot cross buns for tomorrow morning after Peter had fixed the oven door.  We don't know how long it will last this way because a piece broke off.

  1. When it rains, it pours. :( I'm so sorry to hear so many things are falling to pieces, and at the same time. What are the chances?! I hope that means there is a huge rebirth headed your way. So many things at once must open the doors for something good to fall into your laps.

I can commiserate a little, as we are recently suffering laptop death, too. How did we every get by without them? Silly, really, but they are so useful!

Hugs and wishes for a beautiful Easter weekend. xx

    1. That seems to be so true. Peter thought that the car might be next, I thought the fridge. My laptop wasn't that old, but apparently this kind of failure is quite common in my model. It was also a present from my parents and Peter's laptop is a collge one. We don't have any other computers. Until a few years Peter only had a computer in his office, no laptop at all, but when that one had to be replaced, he asked for a laptop instead so he could also use it a home. Jonathan and Charlotte only use the laptop for their French lessons and Jonathan is doing a typing program. Now we will have to do the French and typing at night, when Peter is back home. Yes, they are useful and I love how much homeschool research you can do with them. I guess I could live without them, but it would be hard. So much is online and not on paper anymore, even homeschool catalogs. I'm so sorry that yours also died, have been able to replace it?

I will write soon, when I get Peter's computer again! I love your words about "something good is to fall into you laps," so uplifting!

Love to the whole family and a happy, happy Easter!

    1. I was so sad when I heard that it couldn't be repaired! I had to think of my blog and all the contacts I have made. I don't know what we will do, maybe taking turns with Peter? He doesn't want any pictures on his computer, though.

By the way, the frame came and two days later, today, the card. Thanks so much, such a lovely card. I'll find a good spot for it, probably in our bedroom where my desk is. I'll send you a picture of the spot! I'll save the other card for Easter.

      Time for bed here.

      Love to all!

    1. Peter came into the kitchen in the morning and there it was, on the floor! It hasn't fallen off again, but it seems to be kind of unstable.

Happy Easter also to you and your family!! And thanks for the hug, I do need it right now.
