Well, yesterday Veronika came down with the stomach flu and Jonathan got a cold so that he stayed in bed most of the day. Then a water pipe in the basement sprung a leak at 8 o'clock in the evening. It got bad quite quickly and we turned the water off. Now we are waiting for the plumber to come. Our stove also is giving us some trouble. One of the burners doesn't work anymore and cannot be replaced because the pieces (especially the screws!) are not made anymore. The children are supposed to have their Christmas play rehearsal today. We'll see how this will work out. A Christmas tree has also to be found . . .
We made some Christmas birds yesterday out of gold foil for neighbors and the garbage man. I will post pictures later.
Gestern hat Veronika mit einer Magen-Darm-Grippe das Bett gehütet und Jonathan hat sich mit einer Erkältung auch fast den ganzen Tag im Bett aufgehalten. Ein Wasserrohr im Keller hat abends ein großes Loch bekommen, so daß wir das Wasser ausstellen mußten. Wir warten auf den Klempner. Unser Herd hat eine kaputte Kochplatte. Er ist ein älterer Gasherd und die Platte kann nicht mehr ersetzt werden, da die Teile dafür, besonders die Schrauben, nicht mehr hergestellt werden. Die Kinder sollen heute Probe für das Krippenspiel haben. Mal sehen, was daraus wird. Ein Weihnachtsbaum fehlt auch noch . . .
Wir haben gestern schöne Vögel aus Goldfolie für unseren Müllmann und die Nachbarn gemacht. Hoffentlich kann ich Fotos davon später hochladen.
