Fairport, Erie Canal/Fairport am Eriekanal

We left early and dropped Flora off at the GCV&M.  Then we drove on to Fairport.  There was a used bookstore where the public library sells books.  Miriam found a book on Russian icons.

Wir sind früh aufgebrochen und haben Flora beim Freilichtmuseum abgesetzt.  Danach sind wir nach Fairport gefahren.  Es gab dort einen kleinen Laden, der zur städtischen Bücherei gehört.  Sie verkaufen dort Bücher, die sie nicht mehr wollen.  Miriam hat ein Buch über russische Ikonen gefunden.

Then we took a walk downtown.  It was a hazy and muggy day.

Dann sind wir im Ort spazieren gegangen.  Es war sehr schwül und diesig.

DeLand House, built 1874-1876.  Henry DeLand was the manufacturer of Saleratus.

Diese Villa (1874-1876 erbaut) gehörte Henry DeLand.  DeLand hat das Backnatron in Fairport hergestellt.

This is part of the old factory, now there are lots of shops and restaurants.

On our way back to the museum, we stopped in Pittsford at Book Culture.
