It is cold again, but thanks so San's socks, which she knitted for me for my birthday, my feet are warm and cozy.
Es ist wieder kalt, aber dank der Socken, die San mir zum Geburtstag gestrickt hat, habe ich warme Füße.

Nice photos! Denver looks very pretty in its snow covering and your socks are so lovely! The cactus is beautiful! I'll have to look up Horace Pippin.
ReplyDeleteYes, but Charlotte was dismayed because she thought all the buds and blossoms will die. This cactus has been so amazing! It bloomed like that in early December and now it is blooming again. Horace Pippin was new to me too, but he has had a very hard and interesting life.
DeleteUnfortunately, that is probably true about the buds . . I hadn't realized they were opening already. Do you know the name of your cactus?

DeleteGreat idea, they need more water than regular cacti!

DeleteEspecially once they start getting buds. If you do not water them enough at that stage, they will lose them all and never bloom.

ReplyDeleteDas Buch sieht interessant aus. Ein Kinderbuch, nehme ich an. Von dem Maler habe ich noch nie gehört, aber ich werde ihn weiter "erforschen". Danke.
Hier soll es Freitag wieder schneien . . . Ja, ein Kinderbuch, aber ein anspruchsvolles! Er hat Gemälde in vielen größeren Museen in den USA hängen.

DeleteIch glaube, die meisten hatten das damals in ihrem Haus.
DeleteWahrscheinlich, ist ja auch relativ pflegeleicht.
DeleteJa, und man kann sie leicht aus Ablegern ziehen, deshalb gingen sie wohl von Hand zu Hand.
