We had a cozy Advent singing time here at home in the evening on Sunday. We also went to church again in the evening for the vigil of the Feast of the Immaculate Conception.
Wir haben schön Advent hier gegen Abend am Sonntag gefeiert und waren auch zur Vorabendmesse in der Kirche, da am Montag ja das Hochfest der unbefleckten Empfängnis war.
This week is the last Nutcracker rehearsal week. Performances are Friday and Saturday. It is also the last college week before finals all week next week. Oh, and it is very cold and is snowing almost daily. I am not sure how much I can post here this week due to all the driving and finishing up this last week.
Diese Woche haben wir die letzten Nußknackerproben, bevor der Nußknacker Freitag und Samstag aufgeführt wird. Wir haben auch die letzte Semesterwoche und dann Abschlußklausuren die ganze nächste Woche. Es ist sehr kalt und schneit oft. Ich weiß nicht, wieviel ich diese Woche hier schreiben kann, weil ich so viel fahren muß und auch beim College viel zu tun habe.
I hope the snow driving wasn't too stressful! The snow is so pretty, but not always fun to drive in . . I have many memories of driving through very blustery conditions when I was in my late teens, and many memories of my dad digging the car out of snowdrifts in order to get to work when I was a child. The schools would be closed but he was a mechanic for the county police department and always made it in.
ReplyDeleteThe snow has been quite a challenge, especially yesterday, when Peter picked up Charlotte from the airport. The highways had not been plowed. Peter thought he would not make it. Oh, yes, my parents also did things like that with our cars :). Where I lived as a child we had masses of snow. We also got off school because of the snow.
DeleteI loved being off from school because of the snow! They were special days. I think it's a shame that the children now will probably be learning via zoom and computer if there are large storms and school gets cancelled.
DeleteSo true, I remember getting to school, but then we were told that there was not school because of the snow :). So true, children need to have some time off and actually enjoy the snow!
