Hot cross buns for breakfast
Good Friday at St. Patrick's: We arrived 20 minutes before it started, but it was so crowded that we had to sit upstairs. The liturgy was over two hours long because there were so many people. They almost ran out of communion too. We sang "O Sacred Head, Now Wounded" ("O Haupt voll Blut und Wunden"), which brings back many German memories of Good Friday for me.
Making Paskha: I used Polish and French fresh cheese products as a substitute for Quark. Now we have to see what the result will be on Easter.

Wishing all of you a blessed Easter weekend, Eva. The egg cozies are so sweet, and your chervil soup looks delicious. I never see chervil in the markets here! I'd love to try making it one day. Here's hoping your Paskha turns out just as good :) Sending you lots of love.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter! We bought the last bunch of chervil at the Borough Market! That is the only place I have found it in London. It is much more common in Germany. I have only found dried chervil in the U.S. The Paskha is okay, but the one with Quark is definitely better. Ah, next year!
DeleteYes, next year! Borough Market has everything! :) I'll have to keep my eyes open for dried Chervil here.
DeleteIt does, but it also has way too many visitors around Easter. It is not a pleasant visit then. I have bought dried chervil at different places in the U.S., but the last years I always had to order it because I could not find it at Wegmans or Tops.
DeleteWhere do you order it from?
DeleteI ordered it from 5 Generations Creamery in Vermont.
DeleteThank you Eva :)
DeleteYou are very welcome. Sorry it took me so long.
