We baked two kinds of cookies today and also made Christmas chocolate.
Heute haben wir zwei Sorten Weihnachtskekse gebacken und dann auch noch Weihnachtsschokolade gemacht.

Peter is trying to finish all his grading -- grades are due today. Miriam took the National German Exam today. We are doing some homeschooling work in the mornings. In the afternoons, we are trying to prepare for Christmas. We are still trying to recover from so much dancing and driving. Jonathan sprained his ankle yesterday while he was dancing. Now he needs to rest.
Peter versucht, seine letzten Hausarbeiten zu korrigieren und dann die Noten abzugeben, die bis Mitternacht abgegeben werden müssen. Miriam hat heute das nationale Deutschexamen gemacht. Jonathan und Charlotte haben es auch in der 10. Klasse gemacht. Wir machen immer noch Schule am Vormittag. Nachmittags versuchen wir, Weihnachtsvorbereitungen zu bewerkstelligen. Ich glaube, wir sind alle ein wenig müde vom vielen Tanzen und Fahren. Jonathan hat sich gestern den Fuß beim Tanzen verstaucht. Jetzt muß er sich ausruhen.

ReplyDeleteHis ankle is so much better. We used a lot of arnica (every 15 minutes) and a special sprain cream from Germany.
DeleteIt's so nice to see Jonathan back home with all of you for the Christmas preparations. Your cookies look very good. My friend Janet had each one of her children pick out a favorite treat to make. I think I need to do that also! My girls have (so far) avoided the kitchen, though Chanda did grate the chocolate for the hot chocolate mix. That was not an easy task. I'm remembering now that Morgana would like to make gingerbread cookies . . maybe we'll be able to do that Saturday.
ReplyDeleteIt is like the old days, five children baking! That is a good idea, picking out a favorite treat! I think my children would pick out similar things, though . . . Has Morgana made gingerbread?
DeleteMorgana made the gingerbread dough this evening. Since she's working tomorrow (she currently has a job in a fancy shoe store on Madison Avenue that she obtained through a friend) I think that Chanda and I will probably roll out the cookies.
