Peter hat dieses schöne Adventsbuch aus Europa mitgebracht. Ich lese es jeden Abend Flora vor.
Peter has brought back this beautiful book with 24 Advent stories. You can also buy it in an English translation. In English it is called The Angel and the Christmas Rabbit. I am reading it to Flora every night.
And today is St. Barbara's day. We read her story in an old German book of mine and later cut some branches. Hopefully they will bloom on Christmas.
Und heute ist Barbarastag. Wir haben ihre Geschichte in einem alten Buch aus meiner Kindheit gelesen und dann Zweige geschnitten. Hoffentlich blühen sie Weihnachten.
Happy Advent, your house always looks even more cosy at Advent and Christmas :-) The cover of this book is so sweet, I bet Flora is really enjoying the stories xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I like those little Advent touches :). It is a nice book, you should look up the English version! Maybe Pip would like it too.
DeleteYes, the book sounds very nice!
ReplyDeleteI wish I had a forsythia bush here in the courtyard, so I could collect some St. Barbara's branches . . Hmmm, maybe I should try planting one in the spring by the laundry room!
They grow very well. We have them all over town here, including in our yard. They should look lovely in your courtyard. Ours are already blooming a bit.
DeleteI understand how you feel about driving at night with the snow and the fog, and an hour is a long drive. I'm glad you arrived home safe :)
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are very pretty and all looks cozy.
Your green salad looks so delicious . . could you let me know what you use for the dressing . . Is it just bacon, almonds and green beans?
I used olive oil, lemon juice. a bit of honey, mustard, and parsley. The almonds were toasted and the turkey was fried.
DeleteHow nice to have Peter home again!
ReplyDeleteYes, now we can share responsibilities again.
