Halloween/All Saints/All Souls//Allerheiligen/Allerseelen

Card from the American grandparents
Karte der amerikanischen Großeltern

Two witches and one ghost were haunting our neighborhood on Halloween.  The five carved lanterns made it extra special.

Pensive witch
Nachdenkliche Hexe

All Saints' Day found us in church  At home we did sing I sing a Song of the Saints of God again.

I sing a Song of the Saints of God gesungen.

All Souls' Day was another church day for us.  After a Latin Mass and a blessing of the cemetery, we walked around and looked at the different graves.  Many deceased came from Ireleand and a few fought in the Civil War.

And what would be All Souls' Day without the story of Tio Fernando.

  3. Happy Halloween Eva. It looks like you had a fun time :) And a nice weekend. The girls look very sweet in their costumes . . . Great jack o'lanterns too! Did you make pumpkin pie?

You had a thoughtful All Soul's Day. It looks very pretty and peaceful in the cemetery. I always find it interesting to read the gravestones. It must have been nice to be outside too. Now it's very cold by you! This morning by us it's 35 degrees. I'm not used to it yet.

    1. Thanks, Dorina, they did have a good time, Veronika got really hot under her costume and was glad when it was over :). We used an old table cloth for that one. We have only roasted the pumpkin seeds. I cooked the pumpkin, but haven't done more with it.

It was even colder here, -4 Celsius. Too cold, we had to scrape our car windows, but our walk back from campus wasn't so bad anymore. It is supposed to get a bit warmer again soon.
