Thanks for the book title-- it looks like another one for us! We would like to plan a tour the missions trip up the California coast one of these years. We visited Pacific Northwest lighthouses about nine years ago-- it's definitely time to go back. We love the area, especially Northern California and north to B. C. -- take care and blessings during these travel times. Extra prayers your way for smooth days:)
ReplyDeleteYou are welcome, it is a lovely book and I found it by accident. I visited California in 1986, driving down the coast from Vancouver to San Diego. It is so beautiful! And as you said, the north was especially pretty. Your lighthouse trip sounds so interesting. Are there many old ones? Thanks for the blessings. Tomorrow night (real late) Peter will be back!
DeleteWe loved that book last year when we did missions. One of our parish priests helped work on the ETWN DocuDrama, "Serra: Ever Forward, Never Back" which airs this coming week. I think it starts on Friday 11/22. You should check it out ; )
ReplyDeleteThere is also one for older children, do you know the one by Bolton? Thanks for the recommendation. Can you watch in online? We don't have TV. It sounds very interesting, though. My husband goes swimming in an outdoor pool every morning! We are really cold here.
DeleteYes some of the lighthouses are very old and beautiful. There is one that is all glass inside up in the light room. Really amazing! We drove from San Francisco up the coast to the Olympic peninsula. A gorgeous area. There is also a rainforest up there! May God bless your family. I imagine Peter won't get to swim outside at home tomorrow morning... :) Barbara
ReplyDeleteThat glass one sounds very fascinating. Are any of them still in use? The part north of San Francisco was also my favorite part, I didn't care for Los Angeles and area.
DeleteNo, we don't have an outdoor pool close by and the only in the area closes in September!!
