Nesting Help for the Birds/Nisthilfe für die Vögel
Veronika gathered together some nesting material for the birds in our yard. We have two nesting boxes and hope they will get used soon.

That is so neat. I saw something similar but the instructions used an old milk gallon and old pieces of yarn. I hope you post if they do make nests. Our birds like the eaves of our roof to make their nests ; )
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jenny. I somewhere read that it would be a good idea to use some colored thread. Later in the fall when the leaves are gone, you could go and look for empty nests. You might spot your threads in some of them.
DeleteHow would you attach the threads to a milk jug, though? Just push them in the opening? What birds are nesting on your eaves? We have never had any bird do that here. If we get a nest, I'll try to take pictures, I promise.
How nice for the birds! I love to see what the robins around here use for their nets. I'm always surprised!
ReplyDeleteDo you get robin nests in your yard? We normally only have chickadees and hummingbirds nesting here.
