P.S. Allen Müttern alles Gute zum Muttertag.
Happy Mother's Day dear Eva. It's so nice to see you with your mom and dad and family. Is Kaffee Hag the coffee you like to drink? What a lovely visit to Worpswede and Peter did a good job with the lawn! :) xoxo
ReplyDeleteSame to you, Dorina. I like Jacobs Krönung and Kaffee Hag :). Worpswede is a fun place to be. I used to go there often to see my friend Birgit. We explored it together. Now she lives in the Bavarian Alps!
DeleteMy father was glad that the lawn is short again. It was really long!
DeleteI know what that's like, and it's more difficult to mow, though always very satisfying! Your father has a pretty yard. I love the little pond. Thanks for your coffee likes. I was curious! :D Do you drink instant, or always brew? Greg prefers a medium roast. I think I do too, though I like making it in the Italian Bialetti moka pot. Greg likes to use a glass Melitta drip pot. I do like a dark roast espresso, but not when they're bitter.
DeleteIt is a small yard (there is also a front part), but a perfect spot to relax in. He does not really use it. My siblings put in the pond for my parents many years ago. I prefer to brew my coffee with a paper filter. I do not like really bitter coffee, but I also do not like coffee from most diners. They make it too weak.
DeleteI like strong coffee. NYC diners make a good cup :) I wonder if you would agree! One reason I like using the Bialetti maker is that it makes a stronger cup of coffee. Do you ever use milk or cream?
DeleteYour dad's yard does look like a perfect place to relax! Maybe he sits out there more than you realize? I would love a little balcony but I really cannot complain because we have a lovely courtyard.
I also like strong coffee, but not bitter coffee or coffee with too much acid. I am surprised to hear that diners make good coffee . . . I only drink my coffee with cream because I have a tendency to heartburn. A doctor once told me to never drink tea or coffee black because it aggravates this condition.
DeleteNo, no, my father never sits outside! He does not like doing that. My mother used to do that. She would sit on the balcony and enjoy the sun. I think balcony are more private than courtyards.
Oh! I think your father's dislike of sitting outside is similar to Greg's dislike of the wind. He is always so uncomfortable if we're eating outside and there is the slightest breeze! People's dislikes can be interesting :) I am like your mom and enjoy sitting in the sun outside on a balcony or in a courtyard :) xoxo
DeleteInteresting about the wind and Greg. My father prefers eating inside. He does not like flies, etc.
DeleteSuch lovely pictures Eva and all those special moments with your family too. It must be such a joy to be in your home town and see all of your family xx
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, San! Yes, it is all so familiar, I show the girls "secret paths" and know my way around. And then they get to meet their cousins, aunts, and uncles. So much fun!
