Heute war Jonathans "Class Day", aber der fing erst nachmittags an. Morgens sind wir mit der U-Bahn in die Innenstadt von Boston gefahren und haben uns das Haus von Paul Revere angeschaut.

Diese Karte hat gut gezeigt, wo der Ritt entlang ging und wer in jener Nacht noch geritten ist.
Photos inside were not allowed, but the house does have a fair amount of original furniture inside.
In dem Haus durfte nicht fotografiert werden, doch gab es dort sehr schöne Originalmöbel zu sehen.

There is an old small chapel next to it, which is dedicated to St. Francis. Watch a video about it here.
Nebenan ist eine alte Kapelle, die dem Heiligen Franziskus geweiht ist. Sie wird jetzt als Souvenirladen benutzt, doch war sie mal für italienische Einwanderer von Bedeutung.

On we go via subway to meet Jonathan at Harvard.
Dann geht es weiter mit der U-Bahn, um Jonathan bei Harvard zu treffen.

Man konnte sehen, wie der Fahrer durch die Tunnel fuhr.

After lunch, we went to the library to look at some of the books in the special books collection.
Nach dem Mittagessen haben wir uns alte Bücher in der Jurabibliothek angeschaut.
This is Lord Mansfield, the same Mansfield, who lived in Kenwood House in London. In April was the last time we visited his house.
Das hier ist Lord Mansfield, der im Kenwood Haus in London gewohnt hat. Noch im April waren wir in seinem Haus.

Copy of the Magna Carta: Read about it here. It has been in the collection for a while, but only recently it turned out that it is an original.
Das hier ist eine Kopie der Magna Carta. Das Original ist schon seit vielen Jahren in der Sammlung von Harvard, aber man hat erst jetzt herausgefunden, daß es ein Original ist. Man hatte immer geglaubt, das Dokument sei nur eine Kopie.
