More Snow/Mehr Schnee

I'm afraid I can only report more snow these days. It keeps snowing, our neighbor and Peter have been shoveling not only snow in our own driveways, but also in our elderly neighbor's. That's the good part about living in a small town: people help each other.

Jonathan has been sick the last few days. First it was his stomach, now he has a bad cold. Peter is working hard trying to finish all his grading; grades are due in a few days. We are also working on our Christmas letters: the English one is finished, the German one is almost done. So a few of my readers will be happy to know that they will receive one in the mail fairly soon.  Charlotte baked one more kind of Christmas cookies today: Baumkuchenspitzen ("tree tops", Peter's favorites). I just finshed baking muffins, scones, and put a beef stew into our slow cooker. It's still snowing and quite cold. Wishing everybody a wonderful Sunday!

Klasse!

  3. hello eva,

we received our lovely window ornament! it's hanging up in the living room and i'll post a picture in the next few days. thank you so much for thinking of us :)

of course we are envious of all your snow! of course . . you may be quite tired of it all by now . . ? of having to shovel it all out of the way? we were supposed to get 1 to 3 inches yesterday, but it only rained! too sad!! but it has been cold outside, and for that i'm grateful. the cold will kill off any pesky mosquitoes still flapping around, but it won't kill off the deer ticks. i thought it did . . and just read that it didn't. oh well. i still like a cold winter. it just feels more "natural."

good luck with the snow and your letters. happy fifth day of christmas!

    1. I'm so glad it got there. I thought it would go well with your apartment decorations.

I would love to send you some snow. It's a lot of shoveling and the roads are pretty icy, especially our hill down to the main road. If it gets cold, maybe you will get some nevertheless. I always wonder about the cold and killing of mosquitoes. Afer all most of Scandanavia gets very cold, but they have tons of mosquitoes in the summer. I dont't know anything about deer ticks or ticks in general.

The letters are almost done! Would you like one by email?
