We have made many candles for Candlemas and also have had candles blessed at church. There was no candle blessing this year, so we decided to make Candlemas crêpes like the French do. Catholic Cuisine has a little write-up about this.
Wir haben zu Mariä Lichtmeß schon viele Kerzen gegossen und auch in der Kirche segnen lassen. Dieses Jahr gab es aber keine Segnung der Kerzen. Also haben wir, wie die Franzosen, Crêpes gemacht.

Those look really yummy! We had hoped to attend a Candlemas Service at Lancaster Cathedral but I still wasn’t great after the horrendous migraine at the weekend and Dave had a slight MS dip so we stayed home. The tree is still up! I joked with Dave last night that we could just keep it up and then it would be one job less to do in December 😂. It will come down today I’m sure x
ReplyDeleteThey were good! How far is the cathedral from you house? It would have probably lovely to go, but I completely understand about not going in your situation. Ha, ha, it might get quite dusty, though. Is it an artificial one?
