It is truly fall.
Es ist wirklich Herbst.
This crazy cat is upset because, again, we prevented him from getting too close to a skunk.
Diese verrückte Katze schmollt, weil wir ihn wieder daran gehindert haben, mit einem Stinktier Freundschaft zu schließen.
Miriam's train: She is on her way back, but the train lost electricity in Utica and was not moving for almost 40 minutes. She won't get into Rochester until after midnight. Poor Peter has to sit and wait for her. And then they still have a long car ride back . . .
Jonathan visited James Madison's Montpelier today and thought it was really neat. Charlotte is in bed with a cold/flu. Veronika has lots of homework. Flora had her Nutcracker rehearsal today. Tonight, she had to bring in the neighbor's chickens, but the chickens did not want to come in. She had to catch each one and came back being very annoyed: "I will never have chickens," she said.

Dear Eva,
ReplyDeleteYour prayer and nature table has cheered up my day 💕.
Poor Peter and Miriam with travel conundrums, hugs to Charlotte and Veronika as they navigate health and homework hassles, Flora’s chicken announcement had me stifling a laugh and it seems like Mr J is the only one living the high life 😂. I hope your weekend is going well and that Leo sorts himself out and behaves! X
Oh San, I am so happy about that! Miriam immediately noticed that I had changed it when she came back. This table has always been important for my children. Arriving by train here is always quite the mega-journey. There is just one train per day, and if it is late, it is VERY late. And of course, there are no trains in the Southern Tier, so you need a car to get to Rochester or Buffalo. Charlotte still has her cold. She has been very unfortunate, totaling her car in an accident, and some of the ballet schools, where she was teaching, closing due to lack of national funding. Flora's chickens seem to be really crazy! Tonight Miriam has to take care of them because Flora has ballet class. The owners are coming back in a week. Leo threw down some plants because we did not let him out to chase the skunk!
DeleteWhat a fiasco with trains and I am so very sorry to read Charlotte’s news what a worry for you and Peter. Your comment about Leo had me chuckling 😂.
DeleteWhen I come to visit you here it is truly like visiting a friend in person and you sharing your days always brightens mine. There are times I’m remiss in leaving a comment straightaway and that’s usually because my brain is frazzled and I know I won’t make sense. I would dearly appreciate your prayers as things are very challenging at this end on so many levels. I did however by God’s grace find my Mum’s book Seven Days with Mary and inside was the novena sheet for Our Lady of Sorrows which I began.
Thinking of you all with love and gratitude for our friendship xx
Yes, Charlotte is having one problem after the other with her car. I am so glad that you enjoy my entries although recently I barely manage to write much. I know how it goes with comments. I also have so much to think about that I sometimes don't get around commenting or writing anything meaningful. Your mother must have been a very prayerful person! So wonderful to find that sheet in the prayerbook. Your mother must have left it there for you :). I will pray for you, and I often wonder how you are doing.
DeleteThanks Eva 💕. I’ve actually managed to share updates on the blog 🙂. Would you believe it but it has taken me four years post Covid to actually work out and remember how to shrink photo files!! This was one of the reasons why I was struggling to post as I knew that I needed to reduce the photos but could not remember how it was done 🤪. Even now there are days when I will get in the car and for a split second cannot fathom what I need to do 😂.
DeleteYes my Mum was a very prayerful person - she had a prayer timetable that would rival any monastic setting 🙂
Happy Friday xx
Oh, when I upload pictures, Blogger shrinks them automatically. How do you upload them? You mom was truly special.
