Peter and I spent the last day of our fall break running errands up in the Rochester area. We also stopped at a bookstore and walked along the Erie Canal.
Peter und ich haben unseren letzten Herbstferientag in der Rochester Gegend verbracht, wo wir Dinge erledigen mußten. Wir sind auch bei einem Buchladen gewesen und haben einen Spaziergang am Eriekanal gemacht.

Happy Fall, Eva. It looks like you had a beautiful and peaceful day, and wandering through a bookstore is always fun. We've had nice sunshine and 60 degree days. It goes down to 45 at night. I've pulled out my sweaters and warm socks.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! This was the first time in years we are having a few days without children together. Just the too of us. I guess we are being prepared for an empty nest. But it was a wonderful day and the Erie Canal is so pretty up there. I think our weather seems to be about the same. Our nights are a bit colder than yours, but the difference between night and day is similar. I have also gotten out some woolen underwear because it is so cold at night.
DeleteOh, that does sound cold at night if you pulled out the woolens for sleeping! And I find it's a very different feeling being together with the children grown . . freeing in a certain way, yet wistful.
DeleteSo true! You partly end up talking about things you used to do with children :). And you also realize that you have aged. It feels different being together now, not like how it was before children.
DeleteIt was warmer last night, but Leo woke me up at 4 o'clock. He wanted to go outside, but I told him he had to wait until 7 o'clock. No exploring in the dark so early!
A student of mine got bitten by a spider in RI over the break. He needs antibiotics and feels not like himself. He looked very tired in class. I did not know that there were poisonous spiders in RI!
