We have had a good first week back to school and back to teaching on campus. However, I have not found time to take pictures or post much here. Hopefully that will change soon.
Unsere erste Schul- und Uniwoche war gut und erfolgreich, aber ich habe bisher keine Zeit gefunden, viele Fotos zu machen oder hier viel zu schreiben. Hoffentlich ändert sich das bald.

Tomorrow, there is a funeral in church. I baked an apple cake for the get-together in the parish hall after the funeral Mass.
Morgen gibt es in der Kirche eine Beerdigung, und ich habe einen Apfelkuchen für das Essen im Gemeindezentrum, das nach der Messe stattfindet, gebacken.

And one sad piece of news: Miriam's confirmation sponsor Joy just passed away. We are all very sad. Peter will play the organ at her funeral, and we will all attend it.
Und dann noch eine traurig Nachricht: Miriams Firmpatin Joy ist gestern gestorben. Wir sind sehr traurig. Peter spielt am Mittwoch Orgel, wenn die Beerdigung ist.
I’m glad your week has gone well. Ours has been very much full of ups and downs but the academic work was done alongside cross stitch, jigsaws and a field trip day as promised. Going forward we had planned on pottery and woodworking classes but the horticultural college that Pip attended last year made contact and she’s been accepted onto a landscape and horticultural course. Since the course is only 2-3 days we are hoping to continue with the three academic subjects at home. I think hybrid learning will suit her well and I’m hopeful things should improve going forward.

DeleteYes, I think people are very sad and I assume the church will be crowded on Wednesday. We know all her children, but she also had about ten siblings!
