We have a lot of people coming and going right now.  Jonathan was in D.C. last week, using the excellent small airport in Bradford, PA.  His flight back got canceled due to thunderstorms, but he made it back a day later.  Miriam had her friend Anna here.  Anna graduated from Magdalen College the year Miriam got her associate's degree.  Now the two of them are driving to New Hampshire to stay with old Magdalen College friends, attend a 4th of July celebration with former Magdalen students and professors, and celebrate the wedding of Miriam's roommate from ITI.  Her roommate was also a Magdalen student before going to ITI.  Jonathan and Peter left this morning to drive to D.C.  This time, Jonathan is actually moving there.  The two of them packed both cars full with Jonathan's belongings.  Jonathan is renting an apartment in D.C.  It is unfurnished.  Tomorrow, the two of them will go to Ikea to buy some pieces of furniture.  Peter said the drive to D.C. was really hard because it is so hot and our air-conditioning is still broken.  He had to stop many times to cool off because he was suffering from the heat.  Jonathan was lucky because his car is brand-new and has a working A/C.  Veronika was teaching ballet to a girl in town this morning.  Then later Veronika and Flora went to friends of ours to water their tomatoes.  The friends are out of town, and we are taking care of their tomatoes.   Flora is participating at a craft morning at our neighbor's house this summer.  A few days ago Veronika and Flora had their orientation for their work with the summer camps at the living history museum.  As you can see, there is never a dull moment here.  By the time evening comes around, I am too tired to think about blogging.  It is also still hot and the fans are running non-stop.  Maybe I should mention, though, that supposed a bear has been seen in town! 

Wir haben hier im Moment ein großes Kommen und Gehen.  Jonathan war letzte Woche kurz in Washington.  Er ist von dem sehr schönen, aber sehr kleinen, Flughafen in Bradford in Pennsylvanien aus geflogen.  Es gab auf dem Rückflug so starke Gewitter, daß der Flug um einen Tag verschoben werden mußte, aber am nächsten Tag hat es dann geklappt.  Miriam hatte Besuch von ihrer Freundin Anna, einer ehemaligen Magdalen College Studentin.  Die beiden sind jetzt in New Hampshire und Boston, um Freunde von Magdalen zu besuchen, an einer Feier zum 4. Juli für ehemalige Studenten und Professoren von Magdalen College teilzunehmen und zum Schluß noch die Hochzeit von Miriams Mitbewohnerin (ITI, doch war sie früher auch Studentin bei Magdalen) in Boston zu feiern.  Heute morgen sind Peter und Jonathan per Autos nach Washington gefahren.  Die Fahrt war für Peter sehr anstrengend, weil die Klimaanlage im Auto ja kaputt ist und es so heiß ist.  Er mußte oft anhalten, um keinen Hitzschlag zu bekommen.  Jonathan hatte es da besser, da sein Auto neu ist und die Klimaanlage noch geht.  Morgen wollen die beiden bei Ikea einkaufen, weil Jonathan das nächste Jahr in einem unmöblierten Apartement wohnen wird.  Veronika hat heute morgen einem Mädchen hier im Dorf Ballettunterricht gegeben.  Später haben Veronika und Flora die Tomaten bei Freunden gegossen.  Die Freunde sind unterwegs, und wir kümmern uns um die Tomaten.  Mittwochs macht Flora jetzt immer bei einer Nachbarin bei einer Bastelstunde mit.  Und neulich hatten Veronika und Flora ihr Vorbereitungstreffen für ihren Sommerferienlagereinsatz im Freilichtmuseum.  Es ist, wie gesagt, immer noch heiß und die Ventilatoren laufen auf Hochtouren.  Bei so viel Aktivitäten und Hitze komme ich gar nicht dazu, hier viel zu schreiben.  Vielleicht sollte ich aber noch erwähnen, daß ein Bär sich im Dorf herumzutreiben scheint!
