My homeschool shelf is all organized.

Mein Homeschoolregal ist auch neu geordnet.

I sharpened all pencils and colored pencils and rearranged some of these supplies.

Ich habe alle Bleistifte und Buntstifte gespitzt und hier einige Dinge neu geordnet.

All the books for circle time are also in order.

Auch alle Bücher für unser Kreisspiel sind geordnet.

We are all set to go for the new school year/semester.  There are still a few things I have to order, but we won't need them right away.  

Alles ist für das neue Schuljahr und Semester vorbereitet.  Einige Unterrichtsmaterialien muß ich noch bestellen, aber wir brauchen sie noch nicht sofort.

Leo brought us a mouse today.  He had caught it outside and was very proud.  He did not understand why it was not running away when he wanted to play with it.  I guess the concept of death does not have any meaning to him.

Leo hat uns heute eine Maus gebracht.  Er hat sie draußen gefangen und war sehr stolz.  Er hat aber nicht verstanden, daß die Maus nicht mehr weglaufen wollte, als er mit ihr spielen wollte.  Daß so eine Maus tot sein könnte, scheint er noch nicht verstanden zu haben.

Fall/Herbst?

We saw the first sign of fall today.

Heute haben wir das erste Zeichen für den herannahenden Herbst gefunden.

"Seneca Chief"

Today we drove to Buffalo to see a replica of the "Seneca Chief," the famous Erie Canal boat that was the first to travel the canal.  

Heute sind wir nach Buffalo gefahren, um das Eriekanalboot "Seneca Häuptling" zu sehen, das eine Gruppe von Freiwilligen nachgebaut hat.  Dieses Boot war das erste Boot, das den Kanal entlanggefahren ist.

They are still working on it because pretty soon it will go on its journey along the remnants of the canal to NYC!  You can see the stops on the way and also an detailed schedule here.  The Erie Canal is 200 years old this year.

Es wird noch an dem Boot gearbeitet, weil es bald den alten Kanal bis nach New York entlang fahren wird.  Dieses Jahr wird der Eriekanal 200 Jahre alt.

These ships can be visited.  We did that during a homeschool trip in 2014.

Diese Schiffe kann man besichtigen, was wir mit unserer Homeschoolinggruppe 2014 gemacht haben.
