Quite helpful :). It is also good exercise for him.

Thanks about your nice words about my teaching. I am trying to make it lively, but I am also a big proponent of grammar. Yes, the craft fair has many pretty items, I never take pictures of individual sellers because I feel it is too intrusive, but there are many great artists among them. And yes, this college is perfect for children. It's hard work, but very satisfying.

I agree with San that you have created a wonderfully warm and vibrant atmosphere in your classroom :) And the college is such a nice place for the children to explore and be at home in. The craft fair looked like a lot of fun. dorinalouisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14997381262511104320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-91773744383824557902013-12-14T23:03:57.304-05:002013-12-14T23:03:57.304-05:00Danke, C. I didn't serve them Lebkuchen, because we don't have a store close by where you can buy them. And to make them myself would be way too complicated. The authentic recipe requires unusual ingredients. Most of the students are not 21, so they can't drink yet. And our college is a "dry" college. Alcohol is not allowed, neither for students nor for faculty. So no wine. But they will get German Christmas chocolate next week.

The Advent spiral was early this year, on the first Sunday of Advent. Due to Thanksgiving break and bad roads we didn't make it, but I hope we will get to go to the German Christmas concert there. Do your students get to watch a programme on the Christmas markets? My friend Dorothea, always shows a clip to her students and they usually have liebkuchen, hot chocolate or mulled wine around the end of the Christmas term. For her Christmas is Germany and she has travelled home every year since her now grown up boys were babies.

Poor Flora did look so worn out in those last few pictures, yet despite that she is an absolute darling! Are you hoping to attend an advent spiral this year?

Thinking of you and sending you a big hug as you wrap up these last days of the Michaelmas term.
