That's a great idea, although the deer might come here and eat it (They ate our Halloween pumpkins). Maybe a cool garage would work too -- but that's kind of "ugly."Evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831448349166435125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-34599910564048411772010-12-01T18:37:40.925-05:002010-12-01T18:37:40.925-05:00There is nothing quite like making your own Advent...There is nothing quite like making your own Advent wreath. :) Though by the end of it ours is a dying mess. The locals here put theirs outside except for the hour or two at night, but I always, always forget. Maybe I can remember to mist it instead.Sarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00694034873325873385noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-26934489289382288462010-11-30T22:51:37.585-05:002010-11-30T22:51:37.585-05:00Hello Alexandra,

Some Catholic churches in Germany have four purple candles, but most churches and homes use red ones or natural beeswax candles.

I bought the candles at our local pharmacy (I always look for some shorter, but fatter ones, but can never find them). Guess where the candles were made: Germany :).Evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831448349166435125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-49862737815520398882010-11-30T22:48:35.716-05:002010-11-30T22:48:35.716-05:00Hello Dorina,

We mist the advent wreath with water every day and we make sure we have boughs that don't loose their needles too quickly. We can cut good ones in our own backyard, but our grocery store also sells good ones. They come in a swag, but I simply take it apart.

Thanks for your info on your relatives. I'll reply soon. Evahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16831448349166435125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-32865874975296144052010-11-30T12:40:09.365-05:002010-11-30T12:40:09.365-05:00Beautiful wreath with the traditional German red c...Beautiful wreath with the traditional German red candles.Alexandrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12356420873078531863noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-47804069719235230922010-11-30T08:14:52.889-05:002010-11-30T08:14:52.889-05:00hello eva, thanks for sharing how you make your ad...hello eva, thanks for sharing how you make your advent wreath. it's beautiful. and i love your tradition of singing songs around it's light.

do you change the pine boughs often? i don't have access to a tree whose branches i can just snip whenever i need more boughs . .dorinalouisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14997381262511104320noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-287923374500556606.post-3584997917654611572010-11-30T02:23:58.837-05:002010-11-30T02:23:58.837-05:00Sehr elegant, euer Adventkranz!

Am Weihnachtstag gibt es so gut wie nie welche. Dafür bekommen wir immer eine Dose davon von der Oma, die es noch ganz traditionell macht, also backen und verstecken, und meistens an die 8 verschiedenen Sorten.Sybillehttp://www.buntblume.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.com
