20 Years of American Marriage!/20 amerikanische Ehejahre

We celebrated our 20th American wedding anniversary on Thursday.  Our German wedding anniversary is in July.

Lunch at the Glen Iris Inn
Mittagessen beim Glen Iris Inn

 Saying "hello" to the waterfall
Dem Wasserfall einen Besuch abstatten

Flora brought her puppy along: He had never seen the falls before.
Flora hat ihr Hündchen mitgebracht.  Das hatte noch nie den Wasserfall gesehen.

Can you see the crane to the very right?  They will tear down this very old bridge (from 1875!) and are building a new one right now.  The new one will cross the river at a different spot.

 Walking down to the falls
Wir gehen zum Wasserfall.

I have to find out what these flowers are, they were everywhere.
Ich will noch herausfinden, was das hier für Blumen sind.  Sie waren überall.

We are squinting a little bit because we were looking right into the sun when the picture was taken.

 Glen Iris Inn

Flora loves this fountain and the goldfish.

 It is raining blossoms!
Es regnet Blüten!

The sky was getting very dark and threatening.
Der Himmel wurde immer dunkler und bedrohlicher.

Peter is handing the car keys to Jonathan so that he can drive us home.

Some more unknown flowers
Diese Blumen kennen wir auch nicht.

 Bird watching
Vögelbeobachtung

We just got home in time before the big thunderstorm

Today we had lots of errands up in Rochester.  We hardly ever go to Rochester and the drive is fairly long.  It was also very hot, 88 degrees.  Not the greatest time to be out and about.  Maybe I can post the pictures tomorrow, but we also have the annual Memorial Day flea market and there is a rummage sale at our church and a book sale at our library.  Too many things at once.  It is also not supposed to cool down any time soon

    1. Thanks so much. I was not sure if I should post them or not, but then I though why not. We are older than 20 years ago, less hair or grey hair, but still very happy together. And thanks so much for your blessings.

  3. Happy Anniversary Eva! What a lovely dinner and outing! The falls are so beautiful. The food looks so good too :)

It's been so hot here. I've been very lethargic. Good luck with the many activities you have this weekend. It's not easy when we're not accustomed to the heat yet. Lots of love to you on your twentieth Wedding Anniversary xoxo

    1. I took the food pictures for you :). Thanks for the good wishes.

Yes, this heat came too suddenly. It will last until next Friday, at least here. I was not ready for it.
