Snow continues/Mehr Schnee

Flora took this picture from the inside of the car.

The snow is really coming down!  Peter drove to the pharmacy (35 minute drive) and said it was bad.  We had to pick up more antibiotics for Jonathan because they had counted them wrong and he was out of them.  Now, at 10:30 p.m., Peter is out shoveling snow because otherwise it will be too much to shovel tomorrow morning.

I showed my students the pictures from our trip to the North Sea.  We are doing a unit on German geography right now and the north comes first.

I managed to clean up upstairs.  It took me all day (except when I taught my college students).   The girls here at home picked up some homeschooling books today and actually worked a bit, although they got tired quite quickly.  Jonathan is doing quite well again: He is taking a college class for credit on the American constitution and went to class today.  He also did another Center for Lit class tonight, one he had actually done before (on Beowulf), but he liked it so much that he wanted to do it again (with different students, of course).

Our plans for tomorrow are cleaning up downstairs.  The girls would love to play in the snow, but they are not allowed to go out into the cold air for now (doctor's orders).  First their lungs need to heal.  Jonathan hopes to be well enough to go to Washington D.C. at 6:00 a.m. on Thursday with other young people from the college and our diocese for the March of Life.  Charlotte has also been invited to go this year.  They will be well cared for by the organist form our church.  They will come back Friday night (midnight).

How do sick children spend their time when they are not resting?  They do watch some Pusteblume with Peter Lustig (great for homeschoolers)!

They are also drawing and reading.  Sie zeichnen auch und lesen.

And Veronika and Flora have been making German/English videos: quite amusing :).

  1. The snow pictures are very pretty. I know now that the girls finally got out into the snow. What a worrisome winter you've had with them this year. I'm so glad they are better. Love and hugs to all of you! xoxo

  2. The videos are enchanting! How I miss those days :) Maybe I should put up some of Morgana and Chanda's old videos! In one of them they caught Korrina and I having a terrible argument. Hearing myself yell was such a necessary wake up call for me!

    1. I cannot picture you yelling :), but I know myself how easy it is to do so. I come form a very loud (and yelling) family. I guess I would not post that video, but some other ones would be fun to see. It is funny what children come up with.

    1. I bought a book in California on how to draw animals, which was a great find. Veronika and Miriam like to use it a lot.
