Maud Lindsay: Mother Stories

Flora is now the fifth child that gets to hear the sweet book Mother Stories by Maud Lindsay.  The author was Helen Keller's friend and a kindergarten teacher from Alabama.  The book is full of goodness and simpleness; you can download it for free here.   And then there is the audio version for free.  Each story has a quote for the mother before the story starts.  Here is the verse for the first story "The Wind's Work":
Power invisible that God reveals,
The child within all nature feels,
Like the great wind that unseen goes,
Yet helps the world's work as it blows.

    1. It is more for younger children, but even Veronika still likes the stories. There is also a second book. Flora especially likes the stories with the animals.

    1. Thanks so much, Barbara. Peter is going back to Vienna tomorrow. He has been enjoying his conference in the Czech Republic. He has met many interesting people and even tried some bloodwurst! We had our first Nutcracker rehearsal today. I think they all had fun. I hope Patrick is doing well. Blessings to you all.

  3. Thanks for sharing I will run the audio for Pip. Your weeks on the lead up to the nutcracker will be very busy.

Pip is in the pre primary class for ballet and tap. She gas wanted lessons since the beginning of last fall, it has taken me a long time to sort them! She enjoys her class.

    Must go it is late.

    1. I hope Pip will enjoy it. Flora really likes the story with the cat and also the grey pony. We started rehearsals today, but since the studio is in town it is all manageable.

I am so glad you get manage to have her take classes. Flora is also in pre-ballet, but she will still be able to do the Nutcracker. Most children in pre-ballet are five and you had to be six to do the Nutcracker. Flora is so small that she would have not done so well with the much bigger kids in primary ballet so we thought she could do one more year of pre-ballet. So nice to know that Pip is doing something similar as Flora!

I hope you have recovered from the wedding preparations.

      Sending you a big hug!
