Sock 1/Strumpf 1!

A long process, but here is number one of Charlotte's knitted socks.  She did it all by herself!
Das war ein langer Prozeß, aber hier ist nun Charlottes erster gestrickter Strumpf.  Den hat sie ganz alleine gemacht!

  1. Well done Charlotte! I've nearly finished knitting myself a pair of socks and had hoped to knit a pair for Sara for her birthday, which is Saturday! Hmm, I think i'm going to be a bit late in posting her little gift!!

You need to get that other sock done otherwise you will have cold tootsies this winter!!

A hug to you and one for your lovely mama xx

    1. I bet you just knit a pair within a few days :): For us this was a difficult endeavor, I had never knitted a sock in my whole life and here I was, teaching it to Charlotte. Steep learning curve for me.

I think we will start on the second one next week.

      Thanks for the hugs.

    2. It was Sara that taught me to knit socks! And yay, I posted her socks on time! Xx

    3. You must have much more talent than I have to learn it and then go so fast! I'm envious :):

  2. That's a gorgeous sock, Charlotte! Very impressive with the pattern and color changes. Wow! Great job and have fun making the second one. I imagine now that you've made one the future ones will be easier.

    1. Thanks, Barbara, but she didn't do the pattern. The yarn she used is dyed in a way that it will make a pattern. We do hope the second one will go faster and won't take a year to finish.

  3. Oooooh, toll!

  5. Congrats! Well done! Both of you! It really looks good! I hope the second gets done quickly too . . but (unfortunately) I understand all too well how it might not! Of course . . having the first one done is a good incentive. I can see Charlotte furiously knitting in between ballet class, the horse back riding lesson, workbook studies, main lesson blocks, chores, personal reading time, helping the neighbor around the corner (is she still doing that?) . . . and half a dozen other things I am sure! Well, our girls certainly can't complain that they lead boring lives . . :)

    1. I love your description about Charlotte's activities. Yes, she is still helping the older lady (down the hill actually) every other week. She is done with babysitting for a while, though. I do hope the second sock will go faster, now that we know what we are doing (sort of, at least). No, there is certainly no boredom around here (like at your place). I hope they won't be burnt out by the time they are 30!
