Heinevetter

Veronika fell quite badly yesterday afternoon (she was just trying to reach a door on campus faster than Miriam) and really hurt her left arm a lot.  Peter took her to our pediatrician and she got an x-ray at the hospital today.  It turned out that the arm is just very badly bruised and needs to be kept still for a while.  We were very thankful that it wasn't broken.  Today would have been her first ballet class, but of course she couldn't make it.  She had really been looking forward to it.  She was also quite stunned from the fall so for homeschooling she used a math box from Heinevetter.  You have little orange tiles with numbers that get put on top of a math problem when the number on the tile matches the result of the problem.  When the solution is correct all tiles match together (they have different edges on each side, like a puzzle).  These boxes are perfect if you need extra practice or a break from your math textbook (or if you fall badly).  Click here and then on "internationale Ausgaben/Translations" to get to the English part of the website.  This will lead you to the "arithmetic tutor" in the bottom right hand corner.

P.S. Maybe if I just post BRIEFLY every other day, I can still share our work.

    2. Diese Kästen gibt es auch für Grammatik. Wir arbeiten hin und wieder gerne damit. Fast wie Montessori :).

    1. Thanks, San, today she was kind of quiet and only read all day, her arm is all blue, but it didn't hurt so much anymore.

  3. Yes! We will keep Veronika in our prayers too! That sounds like a really bad fall. I'm so glad you might be able to keep posting briefly! I was wondering if you might be able to share your daily rhythm and how you manage to teach your children, spend some individual time with each of them, along with keep younger ones happily occupied. Have a blessed week!

    1. Thank you, Barbara, that will make her happy. I'm so glad she didn't also suffer a concussion. Concrete is quite hard. Maybe by the end of this week or the beginning of next week I'll have our schedule figured out and can post about it. Today went quite well, even with lots of ballet added to the afternoon.

  4. I too am very glad she didn't suffer a concussion! Praise God! The concrete is hard and unforgiving. Thank you for sharing your schedule when you get there. We are three weeks in to our new school year. It is going well! I am learning so much about disciplining myself to obey the days rhythm :) Does that make sense? (From The Mother's Rule of Life...) a good and worthy challenge that will bless us all in time!
