Still Itching/Es juckt noch!

I can't tell you anything really new.  The two chicken pox girls are still covered with little spots, the heat and humidity (92%) do not really help, but the girls' mood has improved.  Peter, Charlotte, and I went to the dentist today.  So nice that he is in town and we could take turns staying with the chicken pox patients.  Peter also drove to the grocery store (half an hour away) and got a hair cut.  I'm spending a lot of time with planning for the next school year.  While looking at my favorite homeschooling sources, I discovered that Simply Charlotte Mason is publishing nice looking geography books.  Do check them out.  Tomorrow a floor specialist will come to take a look at our living-room floor.  Our carpet is really old and needs to go.  I guess I have to clean off the floor.  Right now it's covered with planning materials.

  1. Just popping in while i have the internet. Hope the girls itching eases. We are staying at Beadnell Bay, we visited Lindisfarne Abbey also known as Holy Island today, it has not been a good day. The gap between B and P is widening and they annoy one another, Pip will be starting school in September and I will be looking for tuition for B, I just cannot cope anymore, I have tried so hard these past four years but I am not doing a very good job and he is beginning to hate me annd I in turn do not enjoy either of there company right now. Sorry to moan!

I forgot to say thank you for thinking of me, with a bit of luck your gift might be waiting for me when i return home on Saturday.

    Love to you

    1. I looked up the island: It must be very beautiful there! Too bad, Pip and Benedict don't get along anymore. It might also be a boy-girl thing (although Jonathan and Charlotte were and still are best friends). When you say you are looking for "tuition", do you mean a tutor or a boarding school, or just a school? I hope you'll be happy with whatever decision you make.

    2. Possibly some extra input with the maths and english, benedict would hate school, he used to be quite happy to attend when he was in school, but now he is school phobic.

We are home now, hoping to post holiday pics soon.

  3. I'm glad the girls are in better spirits, though i know the humidity does not help! hopefully, it will cool off in the next few days???!

it sounds like you're having some nice quiet planning days . . summer days. it's good you got the dentist in . . i do not enjoy the dentist but am always glad when appointments finally happen and then END!

wishing you peaceful and soothing summer breezes! (and thanks for the geography book tip . . they'll be good to look at).

    1. Miriam's best friend called today, she would like to come over and visit. She's been vaccinated, so I guess that should be okay. That is a great cure for sick little girls, to have company, I mean. I don't like going to the dentist, although I have good teeth. This time he found one small cavity, so I'll have to go back soon. Peter will have to get his wisdom teeth pulled.

I'm always trying to find better materials for geography. There are so many boring ones. The link above uses the book "What the World Eats." That might be perfect for you.

  4. We got rid of our carpets and painted the floor with floor paint. It has held up well and is easy top clean with a mop.

    1. What floor paint did you use? We have nice oak floors underneath.
