Polishing Shoes/Schuheputzen

In order to make it for church on time, the children have to lay out their church clothing in the evening.  Today they also had to clean their shoes.  Charlotte liked it so much that she wants to clean them every Saturday!

  2. We where just about to do the same! I've got my shoe shining supplies out for tomorrow. All our shoes need a good shining. My husband is going to show my son how to do it tomorrow. His church shoes are suede, but he'll be learning to shine leather(mine and his sister's).

  3. What a coincidence! It is great work for children and so much fun. I think the Montessori world sells kits for young children to use because they value this skill so much. When it get's warmer it's also a good activity for outside. For suede shoes you could use a brush and one of the suede sprays you can buy. That would add a different component to the polishing.

  4. Dorina, I always think that clean shoes add to the way you feel about yourself. Normally we don't look down and we tend to neglect our poor feet and their homes.
